My granddad used to say ' never lend what you cant afford to lose because things never come back the way they went out'

He was talking about garden tools but I think it applies to everything. if any of my family come for a loan of the van I will gladly let them have it but I take it and collect it. its not that the van is worth much just that it is the only one I have and I cant afford to replace it.

Also, when your kids ask for a loan of cash or something like a DVD we all know its a gift, thats never returned.

Lesson learned, never loan the van out to anyone again. It was a complete accident and he obviously didn't mean it so we'll move on and put it behind us and put it down to experiance. I am going to send some photos to a place in Doncaster who repair caravan panels and we'll go from there.

As for Phil's comment, yes , the workers are morons. Who in their right mind sprays wet tar all over the road then sends traffic over as soon as they are finished. What's wrong with letting it dry before driving over it. The moneys worth of vehicles that will have driven over there and suffered the same fate doesn't bear thinking about.
