...Awnings are really hard to put up. Then it gets easier and easier.....

I regret that I am forced to disagree on this point; on my very first attempt (having read advice on here and other sites) our awning went up in a matter of minutes - the following few occasions, various hiccups (disasters?) occurred, and tempers were ever so slightly frayed....
Nowadays things are once again much easier, although for some strange reason the awning still doesn't seem to sit as even and level as that first time - of course, it's because the ground is never as smooth and level as the first time...
Similarly, the first time setting up a satellite dish (at home, in the back garden), signal and programmes found virtually instantly - since then, definitely hit and miss (although if I'd given vent to my feelings and hit the dish/receiver etc, I wouldn't have missed them!)

Hi we had a great weekend away. When we got there it was raining so didnt put the awning up. But this wekend we are away again....only 6 miles away to Pilliton Lakes at Penkridge for a spot of fishing/sunbathing hopefully and a few beers. The awning is going to be wrestled to the ground and put up like it or not!!!! We have put up a nice flat screen up now, free view and dvd built in, just incase of the dreaded rain!!! Thans for the advice on the aerials.....how do you attach them? Any drilling etc? Have you all been away or going soon???? Thanks S.
