Use the "fuel" facility on a sat nav GPS for a selection of Supermarket stations with directions to the door.
Please let the urban myth spreaders not tell us that Supermarket fuel is not as good. It's all the same really (apart from the additives a few years back)
I seem to remember a few years back, or have I imagined it, that a law was brought it requiring Motorway services to advertise their prices of fuel prior to you leaving the motorway to enter their service area. I believe it was supposed to offer the motorist a wider choice etc. Like everything else these days they pay lip service for a while then quietly do away with it. Anyone else remember this???
I have used the truck pumps a few times and never had a problem getting them in my filler. I generally fill up with fuel before hitching up as I have had a couple of hair raising experiences trying to tow through a filling station. If I am getting low, I tend to top up the minimum necessary in the motorway services as I know that I will have no problem getting through them. I would rather pay an extra 10p a litre for fuel than damage the car or caravan trying to squeeze through a tight filling station. 10p a litre on 50 litres of fuel cost £5, clipping the corner of the caravan trying to negotiate the way through a tight forecourt will cost a lot more than £5 to repair.
