done the deal on the Rallypro. Its a 2011 model only used for 4 nights. The owners sold the van and bought a vw transporter. I'm really pleased with my latest bargain. Going to keep an eye out for a 2nd hand full awning for France.

we have two awnings ,one that will do weekends and a full one for weeks away,we were going to sell the smaller one but you dont get half what you paid for it and there may come a time when there are only two of you away in it ,so if you have the space to keep it you should you wont regret it.

What size awning would you need for the van, Savanne? We could then keep a look out. Are you sorted out with a wastemaster and aquaroll (or equivalent) yet?

Hi David, we've got all the bits just after an awning. The A measurement is 948cms.
Hi Savanne. It sounds as if you are almost all ready to go - bet you can't wait to pick up the van and try it out. If I get a spare moment over the next couple of days, I'll have a look around.
savanne1 weve had our porch awning for about 3 years, and only used it once, it takes very little time to put our main awning up as you know, and did you notice it the one thing we dont argue about,
good to see you have found a van, we know of a nice elddis avante 505, 2004, with all the gubbins, full and porch awning dry with mover, just needs a hook up cable as he wants it. much like this one of ebay here for the 5-6k mark.
i will start looking for awnings for you, now you wanted a certain colour if i remember right.
We've now got three. A Dorema that doesn't fit that we bought for the last caravan we had, a Dorema porch awning that came with our current caravan and an Outdoor Revolution Porchlite XL purchased from UKCS.
Of the three, the Porchlite XL is definately the best compromise. It is almost as spacious as the full awning and as easy to put up as the porch awning, even on my own I can have it all up and pegged down in under half an hour.
The full awning is a right pain. The OH always has some excuse not to help, so doing it on my own is a nightmare, hence we only used it twice. The Dorema porch awning is a doddle to put up, I have only used it once to date and it came with no instructions, but still got it up on my own in 20 minutes. The downside is that there is not even enough room in it to put a table in it; the Porchlite XL can easily accommodate a table and chairs and still leave enough room to get through.
I would definately get another Porchlite XL, but would never get a full awning again. I would possibly consider a porch awning if it were windy, but have used the Porchlite XL in some pretty strong winds.
