I think some caravans need a battery fitted even when on EHU,
with our previous caravan (an elddis crown regent)I was told about it by the previous owner,it was something to do with 'dump load' or 'ballast' for the onboard transformer.
I'm guessing things like hob/oven igniter and the fire igniter work off 12v? I'm going to take the battery to a local garage on Monday and get it checked out. The dealer advised disconnecting the earth whilst in storage as the fitted radio has a little light on it even when switched off and will drain the battery over time. Now there's athought? the old van didn't have a radio and they run off 12v??
Had the battery checked and it's knackered, looks like a trip to the local dealers next week. I've looked and compared prices on line and at local dealers, only a few pence in it.
