Thanks Elaine, reminds me of when I was younger and I called my wee sister hen and she used to say ' I'm noo a chicken!' Try towing on local roads first you just need to slow down earlier, wide turns etc. I used to drive a Sedona and that was like turning a bus.

I was going to say "well done Girls" but I realised just how patronising that sounded. Women are just as capable of towing as men are - its just a matter of mental attitude. Im male and the first time I towed I was just as nervous as you were, I imagine everyone feels the same but most men are too macho to admit it

Not patronising at all but I think you have hit the nail on the head, I read somewhere I think it was on here that more women are going on the towing course as they want the training but men are more likely to think that they can do it. I think that you can never have enough good advice.

I started to tow four years ago now after we had an accident with the caravan that left my husband mentally unable to tow. So now if I want a holiday in the caravan I simply have to tow or we don't go. I can say that this year when we went to Weymouth (five hour journey) I finally felt confident enough to keep it consistently at 60mph. It has taken me four years to gain this confidence as I am in a car with three small children and a very anxious husband. It is no joke to manage! But I can do it and I will continue to take us on our hols as we love our caravan. Even though it would be nice to be a passenger again sometime! :)

Well done I wish I had the nerve to try it. I look at the car and caravan everything looks so big. Maybe one day. Good luck with your travels
