being a tight fisted yorkshireman ,i use a pair of these ,clip on, universal fitting with adjustable rubber straps,added advantage of being able to use cars own mirrors too, the best bit their under £6.00 a pair at towsure.

oops sorry , just had a quick look and there NOTsuitable for a vectra

Has anyone checked them for the 250/200mm protrusion dimension from the car bodywork?
They look to be well outside that in the adverts I have seen.
250mm or 200mm for earlier vehicles. 10" or 8" in old money.

The 250/200 mm protrusion refers to the caravan not the car (assuming the car is narrower than the caravan as will usually be the case).

On tow vehicles conforming to directive 2003/97 EC or sold after January 2007, the towing mirrors may project 25cms further than the widest part of the caravan. On tow vehicles pre dating this directive, the mirrors may project 20 cms further than the widest part of the caravan.
