Have a look at the early 90`s Adria range . The lightweights really are and do 2 and 4 berth at 12 foot with combined shower and toilet . Basic so you have to shop for one with hot water carefully . Tend to be less likely to suffer damp than most from what I have seen while looking to replace my Avondale Wren for a four berth .
Unless you want to spend hours with a wire brush and paint on the underneath , go for caravans made after 1983 with the Al-Ko style chassis .

I wanted a small light 4 berth for my first van and this fitted the bill perfectly. 630kg unladen and a max of 850kg laden. 13ft long, 17ft total length inc hitch.
Ours came with a full awning but we use a Pyramid 260 porch which gives us plenty of room.
A doddle to tow and I move it around by hand pretty easily.
A double at the front and a double at the back which we make up as a single for my 4 year old daughter, which still gives easy access to the loo.
It doesn't have all mod cons but it does everything we need it to and we love it.
We had an Adria Toura for our first van. It was a 4 berth and only weighed 595kg! You should have seen peoples faces when 4 of us and a dog got out of it in the morning!!
obviously depends what your looking for but our ikkle tin tent is a 1992 avondale/pearle orestes custom, she's 16' 4" (4.99m) hitch to rear, with an interior length of 11' 7"(3.53m), overall width is 7' (2.14m) overall height is 7'11" (2.41m), she has a very light weight of 585kgs (11.49cwt) unladen (+ or - 5%) and a max'laden weight of 800 kgs (15.71cwt).

This was our last caravan, a Sprintaway Lux. A bit pricey but with an unladen weight of 702kg and a payload of 298kg, it was perfect for us at the time.
However when we bought our second dog, we needed something bigger and we sold the Sprintaway and bought a folding camper. Still light enough to tow with a small car but oodles more room.

We have a Fleetwood Garland 148/2 SB 1990 14'8", 2 berth which is in great nick, is something like 875Kg and has a total weight of 1100Kg so you can take a reasonable amount of 'stuff' with you, it's great to tow, well built, dry as a bone and not a bad looker (look at my gallery). We have a grill and 3 hot plates, sink, heating, hot water, cold water, shower, toilet, waste, 240volts and 12 volts, leisure battery, side bathroom, fridge etc. etc.
Not a bad van at all and the name Fleetwood is a respected one and were the same as Adria vans. If you need more info just ask.
We have a 2008 Elddis Avante 362 which we love. Whichever van you go for, just be aware of the user payload. It is amazing how quickly you can reach the maximum just with essential items. The M.T.P.L.M. is imporatant but the difference between it the M.I.R.O. need serious consideration. I have spent many an hour weighing the items I load inot the van. We are now considering changing and the main thing I have been considering is the maximum user payload.

We towed a Abi Marauder 5 berth with our 1.6 petrol focus and it was no problem and towed great. Sadly we had to sell it because could not afford storage. we now have a conway cruiser FC that we are loving, and we can store this on our drive. Miss my Marauder it was Fab
We had a 2001 ABI Adventurer which was absolutely brilliant. It looked like a normal small caravan from the front but from the back it looked as though it had been cut in half !!!I can't recall weight or length but coupled with a Trio Sport Awning it was ideal and was pulled by a Picasso. Details can be found on line and there are a couple for sale.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
