I hope he does get some money ! and I would rather him overprice his van and screen out the people who "just want a cheap holiday " ! Camping/ caravanning is a way of life ! not cheap holiday ! I was been under canvas and now under the tin canvas since I was born. When camp site where a green field with a tap and toilet ! I hope he does sell it
We have Bailey Ranger saved as an ebay search and thats how I spotted it last night. Been useful as bought 4 Bailey Ranger cushions found on the search last week.
Geoff+Emmy, totally agree- 17k for a Ranger even with an Isabella awning isnt going to cost that is it.
Orion, thanks for your support.

If the awning is an Isabella with a sleeping pod & inner tent then that could be knocking on £2000.
The 'van also has ATC fitted as an option (the sticker is visible on the back). Retro fitted there is another £500. The price soon adds up when you have battery, gas bottles etc. to include.

Cant see at lot wrong with Ad ,except maybe being over optimistic on price at this time of year , 85mph in france is pretty common and not against the law ,so nothing wrong or dangerous there, a lot of small minded petty assumptions going of here from what i can see ,we can all sit at home and pick holes in ads,for all you know the guy could be a member on here and reading this at home
Hi John, would not think he was a member on here, as he would have seen some of the posts regarding, nose weights, speed, hook up thingy etc. and have an idea of how to place the add, with all the info of the van. I think as Tentz says the bloke is very naïve, and as he bought the van from a friend, I presume he just bought van and off he went, as a lot of first time caravaner’s buyers I know have done, not a thought that there may be rules and regulations covering the towing of a van, in the unlikely event that he dose read this forum, he may edit his add, listing all the vans details properly and with a more realistic figure.

If in Doubt Check it Out.
Can't see a problem with the add personally. I wouldn't buy it after doing price comparisons but he is obviously inexperienced in caravanning, although experienced in ebay selling.
Perhaps his mate was naive about caravanning when he bought it for £17k. He obviously didn't keep it long.
He is naive about speeds etc but many others tow at 85mph and there are a few gung ho! types on here I am sure. As Tentz said it is legal up to 81mph in France.
He may sell it - he may not. He is certainly getting plenty of views from curious caravanner types on here.
Just because it's not illegal to tow at over 80mph in France doesn't make it either safe or right, in fact I would say it's highly dangerous.
Your caravan handbook should give you a maximum towing speed figure, which should be adhered to IMO. Neither the tyres or running gear of most caravans should be put under such strain & I think the possible dangers to other road users speak for themselves.
