I've been using it for three days and it works perfectly. Saves ages compared to using a squeegee and a cloth to mop up the drips. AND the kids are doing it which saves me a chore!!
your not getting the point m8, you should be aiming to not get loads of condensation, but you crack on m8. let us know when every thing goes mouldy and the walls go damp etc, give it a month and you'll be scrapping you've van.
Afraid I'm with mark on this billy, seen it to many times in caravans especially customers telling me there caravan has water ingress when they just know nothing about what damage condensation can cause, mark is trying to tell you that if you have condensation collecting on your windows it will also be gathering around the rest of the van on the walls and near joints, and the walls especially in a static being made of board will just soak it in leading to damp. The best cure is to install trickle vents in the windows and walls if poss. Hope this helps
There has been no sign of condensation on any other surfaces. It's a new van so I guess it is made to modern standards with regards to the number of vents in the walls and insulation in the walls which might explain why there's no condensation on them (I'm not talking about when having a shower when the window is left open) On cold nights the only way to prevent it would be to open the windows and freeze. (and, of course, everyone at home with double glazing gets condensation to some degree or other)
Needless to say with the weather getting warmer the problem is getting down to a minimum.
Billy the condensation builds up over time also, which means the amount you have every morning is just a small amount of it. Condensation is a bg cause of many problems within a caravan of any type or a house. Being in control of condensation through out the day and night lowers the amount you have in the morning.
e.g, if you allow alot of steam and drying clothes etc within the caravan/house to stay within the caravan/house it will show up in the morning on your windows, if you keep control of the moisture that comes form the steam, drying cloths, cooking, showering, breathing etc then you will have very little condensation in the morning.
I'm only trying to help you here as I have seen so many costly mistakes happen with what seems such a minor thing.
Maybe google it and read up on how condensations forms etc. there is a lot more to it than you think.
the dehumidifier definitely fills the reservoir pretty quickly. Even in the bathroom it dries up things pretty quickly (not least I guess because the room is so small)
We have a door between the kitchen/lounge and the bedrooms/loos so we can do each section separately.
Mind you with the weather getting warmer there's very little at the moment.
just remember to keep control of it, if you shower keep door closed and open the window after to get rid of the steam etc, keeping the door shut will stop it spreeding to the rest of the van, the only place it can go is out the window, same idea all round then, trick is to not have a build up, conquer the problem before it starts.
open windows in morning, we normally think about closeing them around 6pm for a nice warm night. try to keep a steady temp through out the caravan through out the day, so not to blast the heaters on to warm up then turn them off and on type, low temp more often works better.
with useing some of these ideas you'll find the amount you have on window will lower, without using dehumidifiers as these dont solve the problem onl hide it.
If it gets worse again pm me I deal with this problem all the time and you'll be shocked how easy it is to get rid of it once you know what causes it.
Back home now and bizarrely the condesation on our double glazed windows is worse than what it was in the last few days on the single glazing in the van?!!?
