Most pest control people should be able to get stainless steel mesh suitable for stopping mice (at least the wholesaler that I use has it). If you are going to use rodenticide beware that there is a proposal before the EU to ban the anticoagulant types which will mean most of the products on the market will no longer be permitted for use. If you do use any rodenticide please make sure you use it within a bait station to prevent any other animals or birds or even children from coming into contact with it.

Just to update you all. I filled up the holes with expanding foam, as like brown sauce said earlier some had huge gaps. Went back few days later and no sign of them. Fingers crossed that's problem solved.

we used good old fashioned mice traps ... especially after the little buggars had my expensive oriental rug i the caravan and had nested in the back of my gas fire!!!  And feasted on my pot noodles!!

we found several mice in within the traps ... but my caravan wasn't trashed
