I`ve a Daystar and don`t really know the correct pressure. I have very stiff suspension too for whatever reason . . .I find 44psi allows me to run at 60mph without warming the tyres much at all. The gross weight`ll be around 1100kg maybe less cos I`ve ditched the fire and oven, If the pressure is too high, then a rut in the road could overstress it.
We love the `van and it tows so well behind a Berlingo.

To quote Tyresafe;
Whatever tyres are fitted to the towing car, caravan, trailer tent or motorhome, it is essential to the safety and stability of the combination that all tyres are correctly inflated for the applied load. Tyres that are under-inflated are much more likely to suffer from a blowout which can cause loss of control of the vehicle.
You need to know the right tyre pressures for your 'van. A guess is not good enough and under inflation is seriously dangerous!
The right tyre pressure is not always easy to obtain. I appreciate 52psi may be ok for the load concerned.
But what is your max tyre pressure? Is it 65psi, same as mine? It`s too high for that. There`s insufficient safety margin imho (don`t like that phrase) But I appreciate the arguments; keep `em coming. I`m open to presuation, nay grateful for such input.

Peter, if your van is 1100kg on exactly the same tyres as Higgins, then unless you are towing the van very light? 44psi is way too low!
I'm with you though in principle, I tow my van light and reduce the pressure accordingly, I don't even mind if it's slightly too low, I mean by that, 2psi under rather than two over.
Towed the van 150 miles up here to near Whitby yesterday, a lot of motorway and hot!, pressure then was increased from 'my' normal 54 to 56 to make sure the speed and heat would not cause a problem.
On arrival, inside of van was a tad more untidy than I'd expect so getting the pressure just right to suit weight more exactly does pay in that respect.
However, I've plenty of experience, I would not advise those with less to start guessing, especially if they don't know the correct pressure in the first place?!
