The wife used her vax on the seats in our van and let them dry outside ( this was on a rare sunny day lol) and the curtains she used a cleaning foam on. We got some space saver storage bags that you can suck the air out of from tesco that are ideal as they take no space up at all. we use sheets and a duvet and a mattress topper which i don't think we need.
I have used my vax on my suite at home and it works really well. Do you know anyone else who has one and would lend it to you? I have lent mine out to a few friends for doing their carpets. It will only take you half a day, although you will need to make sure the cushions are bone dry before you use them.
If you really don't like the curtains why not have a go at making some yourself. I did!
They are easy as they are only short and sraight lines. I got a cheap second hand sewing machine. Over the years I have made 3 sets for different caravans and I am a feller and not good at DIY so if I can anyone can.
Cheers for the replies , have thought about using a sort of vax machine but having looked at them properly they only need a good going over with the hoover tools.
As for making my own curtains , my mum has a sewing machine but she is not upto sewing anymore so i'll have to give it a go if the curtains don't come out right after they been washed.! Should be interesting haven't done any sewing since school a long long time ago!
Honestly, sewing caravan curtains is easy, I used the old as a template, and set a side a day to do it, and they came out great, when we sold our van, the new owners commented how great the curtains were :D
If not you can dye them, I know a lot of people do.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
plenty of suggestions on bedding but for the upholstery i would suggest astonish foam cleaner ,its cheap and does the job ,we used it at home ,we have a white suede 3 piece suite about 5 years old and it cleaned it up like new .
Try Dunelm for curtains. There is usually a small area in Dunelm where they have samples of curtains made up in every colour for you to look at. I took the measurements of my static van and they made them (all lined) for around £80. That also included 4 cushion covers. That was about 8 years ago so they will cost more now but you can still ask for a no obligation quote and they looked lovely and so professional.
We have our sleeping bags zipped together to make a double and then depending how cold it is throw an old quilt over the top and to top it all off and make it look nicer a patch work quilt that used to be on our bed that we don't use at home anymore.
Like you we came from tents and trailer tents and thought we would carry on using the same bedding, we store ours folded up on the front dining seats throughout the season, then in winter take it all home.
