I told the insurance company (Privilege) about the towbar - but they said they no longer consider them to be a modification and there would be no change to the policy.
Unfortunately, while on a trip to Wales (without the caravan luckily), the Volvo was damaged beyond repair (only a matter of days after having the towbar fitted!).
Nobody hurt which is the main thing, and i've been offered exactly what i paid for the car in November last year.
Just need to find a new tow car now, and get ANOTHER towbar fitted!

CC Low Park Wood near Kendal would be ideal for a first weekend away, and not too far to tow from Lancashire,

Congratulations on the new van, just remember the first time away really is a learning curve, we've all been there, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Fellow vanners and site wardens are usually happy to assist!
