One possible and unproven case does not necessarily make it the same issue
Correct
i've just highlighted a issue with with some british vans to my mate, who's not only had his new van trashed but his holiday ruined as well , Not to mention the fact that his van will also be out of action for around 3 months whilst its all sorted.
Just to clear things up a bit, my Swift Challenger lost a wheel nearly 2 years ago now and I posted on here. The wheel nuts, the ones that were found anyway, showed signs of having been ripped from their mountings. The caravan had been serviced in the February and the wheel flew off in the September so in no way could the dealer be held responsible. The hub remained attached to the van in my case. I still own a Swift, all be it a different one, and will continue to buy Swift as they work for me. As for the wheel, all I can put it down to was an Act of God. We had all the theories on here from a disgruntled person to a thief who must have been pretty thick to try and steal the wheel with the AlKo lock on. I have purchased a Torque Wrench though but do not torque the wheels on every trip as I do not on my car so why should I on my van.
Hi Bessie, it was our 4 week old swift van that the wheel (inc hub) came away. Swift gave us a replacement brand new van and motor mover within a few weeks.
If I remember rightly ( its been 4 years ago now)here was mention of it being a problem with the chassis.
As we were all ok and we were given new van etc we were happy. There was a very helpful guy on here called Micheal who helped us through it all.
(It could have been a very different matter however!)
Think it went to over 16,000 hits on here at the time
so sorry to hear about your friend and i really hope it all gets sorted for them very soon.
