We heat ours up a couple of time a week and sit in it with a cup of coffee making plans for excursions. Can't beet it and it keeps the van bone dry to boot.

I've removed all the snow today and the heat in the van has dried the roof but more snow is expected for Tuesday here.

Ours is on all the time, 750W heater with thermostat.  It`s always welcoming - warm.  So when I want to have coffe - in I go!  I have never noticed the cost.

No worries about frost, damp, condensation etc.  If ya leave your house heating off for any time, you`ll wish you hadn`t!

Wrong,

Sudden temperature change causes condensation. Warm air can hold more moisture but has more capacity for evaporation.

Please look at the link. Notice the 2 primary prevention measures.
Inrcrease ventilation and introduce a low background heat.
