I would test this on an out of the way bit of awning before using, in case it also takes away the colour, although it should work ok. You can buy this from Ebay and Amazon.
I've only used the spray on type for waterproofing canvas, and this one works well.
I too have had a bad experience with Pristine Awnings. I sent the canvas of my folding camper to them in June to be cleaned. It was in quite a poor condition with mould stains as unfortunately the winter cover had failed. I also sent the inner tents and roof liner for an extra £20 to see if they could do anything with those. After being with them for several weeks they phoned me to say that once the canvas had been through the cleaning process the canvas had revealed several holes in it from rotting. They then gave me the option of having 3 large patches on it at a cost of £35 to ensure the canvas would not leak. I agreed to this. When it came back it only had 2 patches. We phoned to question that we had been charged for 3 patches and after having a long argument they agreed to refund me for one patch. They also informed me that they were unable to do anything with the roof liner and inner tents. (even though I was charged £20 for them) The canvas arrived back last week after over 2 months and we erected it in our garden to test it out before using it and to our utter disappointment the rain poured in! They told me that it wasn't their job to ensure the canvas was waterproof and that cleaning it had been all they were paid to do. When I said that it was no good to me anymore as it leaked and had they informed me it was un-repairable in the first place I wouldn't have had it cleaned, they replied by saying that they didn't know what I wanted to use it for and it wasn't their problem. They have now agreed to send more waterproofer, but how that is going to solve leaky patches I do not know! £245 later and we can't use our leaky folding camper!!! certainly wont be using them again!
A bit of a delay but for those that wish to know novo sail went insolvent last October 2013 owing mAssive debts ! Not really surprising with the service they were supplying ! Hope anyone who was taking legal action against them got their money first but couldn't have happened to a nicer guy mr anderton (managing director ) it's called karma I think !
We have just had a terrible experience with Jason Anderton, previously of Novosail. His latest disastrous venture in the cleaning business, Wash and Waterproof UK appears to be exactly the same cowboy outfit as Novosail. We sent our beautiful bell tent off to be cleaned and proofed then heard nothing for a month, despite emailing. A neighbouring company, Weightwash, appeared to find the tent and offered to service it for us. As we were glad Wash and Waterproof were no longer involved we agreed that this would be good. Weightwash then washed it and unfortunately passed our account back to Wash and Waterproof! I didn't trust that they had done the job so tried to arrange to pay on collection! Mr Anderton was having none of it and was extremely rude, condescending, arrogant and bullying on the phone. He implied that i wouldn't see my tent if I didn't prepay! I paid and went to collect the tent myself as I wanted to check the work they had done, having read some of the reviews on here! They gave us a tent to take away, but when we looked at it, it was clearly not our tent, being a very different, and cheaper make! Helen, who we now know is Anderton's partner, tried to apologise and send us home but we refused to leave without our tent. She had found it within the hour and when we looked at it it clearly not only hadn't been cleaned in the month they'd had it, but it was far dirtier than it had ever been! It didn't really need cleaning when we sent it off, just re-proofing! Now it needs a deep clean as there are greasy marks and splatter stains on it. It had just been left, unwrapped, in a pile of dirty washing with other people's muck all over it! Helen promised to refund the service fee and when I asked her about the courier fees and petrol expenses and the damage to the tent she asked me to put it in an email and she would try to get it sorted for me. They refunded the service fee but they have not responded to any more emails regarding compensation! Communication with Mr Anderton is always unpleasant and he is not intending to pay back any of the costs or compensate us for the stained tent! If I went through small claims court I don't even know if his company would be in a position to pay us!! He's been there before and would probably find a way to weasel out of it! For goodness sake, don't have anything to do with anything that Mr Anderton is involved with. He is an unethical thug.
