Whoever told you that is talking rubbish,there are loads of vans that aren't registered with CRIS and travel abroad.

Any vehicle that is legal in it's own EU country is legal to drive in any other EU country. Its a slightly grey area open to interpretation by the cop who stops you beside the road but as there is no legal requirement to register a caravan in the UK then they are legal to tow in any other country. UK caravans do not have their own number plate displayed so do not require a registration document.
