The caravan went over, the van towing it stayed upright. The road is flat so the truck was going at 56mph, all larger trucks have limiter set to 56mph or slightly slower. Downhill it can go faster, obviously.
Welcome to about 15yrs ago, you can't pull fuses & hot wire tachos anymore, its all controlled by truck ecu. Any attempt to interfere with speed limiter will show up at truck services & all digi tacho records are downloaded & checked.

What is the weight of a transit van?
2.6t if loaded , 1600 if empty they have a 1tonne payload i know i have one, and they do pull better with weight in the back,,,,,,,, oh and for info they are that underpowered a standard 85 tranny would have massive trouble speeding with a decent sized caravan on the back,
Its not the overall weight of the van its the tail end ability to hold the road when empty when towing.
I used to pull a double wheeler trailer with a cement mixer on it,when going round corners the trailer would push the back end of the van out if the van was empty.
Watch the initial ten seconds full speed video again ,he was going at the same speed as the solo white van ,not the lorry .it also looks like a offside blow out as the van is virtually on the ground .
Combination of speed and tyre maintenance in all probability

Magnet.
Someone had them figured out two weeks after digi tachos came out.
So when I was sat at 60 towing this weekend easily being overtaken by trucks they were actually travelling slower than I was, must need to get my speedometer checked.
I was told the other day they can pull along side a lorry and connect via bluetooth get all details then pull driver over further up thd road.
The threat of fines and points doesn't seem much of a deterrent these days.

Agree...pttered along on cruise at 58 and lorries up me backside. Don't get me started on them overtaking another lorry ona long incline...and they say us car drivers are bad argh.
Car speedometers can legally read as much as 10% optimistic, ie indicated 60mph is really 54mph, this disprepancy will increase as tyres wear. For obvious reasons they cannot read 'slow'. Truck speedos are linked to tachograph so have to be accurate.
This why a truck will overtake you even if your car if reading indicated 60mph when truck is actually doing 56mph & also why you can get away with doing an indicated 80mph on a motorway because you are not actually doing much more than 70.
You cannot tamper with speed limiters on modern trucks, it will show up on computer at service time. With the cost of diesel nowadays it is no longer in any transport companies interest to increase the speed of their trucks anyway.

so my speedo tells me i,m doing 60 my sat nav also tells me i am doing 60 but your totally certain that the actually speed is only 54mph ,sorry but i not only think your telling porkies ,i know you are .i quiet often come upon hgv's doing around or in excess of 70mph and if the speedo and tacho are linked then according to you its impossible.
nothing is impossible when i was driving trucks we defeated the speed limiters within a week of introduction .with todays internet access a way round it can be found in minutes not weeks
In my experience it is extremely rare to encounter an LGV travelling much in excess of the limit.I drove 600 miles on the motorway last week at an average speed of 60mph and not once did an LGV overtake me,dozens of white vans but no LGV.
