Travelled by LD Lines from Poole to Gijon in Northern Spain in May just gone.
Older smaller ship than Brittany ferries without any frills.
Really friendly pleasant staff.
Bar/snack bar/coffee bar open all crossing.
Restaurant open at meal times. Good value food.
Spotless comfortable cabins.
Clean spacious seating area.
Less than half the comparable price for Brittany Ferries.
Would have no hesitation to use the crossing again tomorrow.
I beieve they have just been bought out by DFDS.
We've used Plymouth Santander a couple of times ... Britanny Ferries ... good service, but pricey.
We were holidaying on the North West Coast of Spain ... so perfect sense and would highly recommend it.
Liewise when we used it as a staging post to drive south via Madrid, Salamanca etc.
Now using LD from Rosslare to St Nazaire, and return via Gijon .... very good value!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
