Almost impossible to get genuine bargains at any of the shows - Steam Fairs, Motorhome shows, caravan exhibitions, etc, etc.
The cost of exhibiting is very high, and not conducive to discounts.
We go to look around, but usually end up buying on the web for a substantially cheaper price.
I'm not entirely sure why traders continue to attend these shows - obviously it's a way to present big ticket items like caravans and MH's, but for accessories it seems a complete waste of their time (which, presumably, is why the number of such exhibitors is dwindling at all the various shows - greedy venue owners have not only killed the golden goose, but have also jumped up and down on its corpse!)
Actually I have to disagree, the 4 items we bought at the show I had checked the prices for on the Internet before we went and we actually saved about £45 all told which as we went by train on my season ticket + £1 for my husband I reckon was a pretty good saving.
I agree Admiral, we always go on last day and have had some great deals. A great one was an awning we went with the - if we take this away today you don't have lump it back to the shop and we are down to our favourite two so we will just pop back and have another look at that one and make our mind up then!! Works a treat
Flew down this morning hoping to buy a caravan. Wow - what a deal!! Called a number of local traders to see if they could match it but they couldn't come close! So we made the big purchase today - back tomorrow for accessories :0)
We are thinking of heading over this afternoon, do they have full awnings to take away? Just thinking of all the combinations of size and poles etc and wondering how they could do it. I guess its just porch awnings?
We need a new awning for our van but need an 1100 which don't seem in plentiful supply at the moment unless you want to spend £2k :-/
Full size awnings by isabella but none for taking away today. Was offered the Kampa rally air pro 390 display model to take away at 5.30 today at a good price but we have a flight to catch at 6 so a bit gutted at that but someone here today will get that bargain.
Sorry didn't look at the isabella prices.
Went to the creche to pick up the wee man and went back to Kampa, bought the x demo after the lad agreed to post it due to flights etc with storm straps for £670
Speaking to the guys from Kampa they said there's limited availability on the Rally air pro. It's been selling like hotcakes.
we bough an isabella universal awning.....saved over £500 on rrp...checked internet and couldnt get it cheaper anywhere else....
