I would disagree with it being "hammered" when my van was on a seasonal pitch even the most used ones were only used at the most every other weekend and a few weeks in the summer.
The majority of us only got there once or twice a month and the annual two week summer holiday, in fact there were vans there that I never saw anyone ever use them.
I would agree about the tyres, they will be flat spotted from sitting in the same position for years

Could you ask somebody who lives near to give it a once over to save you the trip for general wear and tear.

you need to check the brakes.. cables and such have not seized during the 6 years the van has been stood before towing it..

jack up a wheel one at a time.. check it spins freely with handbrake off.. check it dosnt with handbrake on a few notches..

check the draw bar hasnt seized by pushing it in and out..

if the handbrake has been left on it may well have seized on.. but ether way you must check the brakes before towing the van away..

Brakes and drums should be ok if brake left off but brake cables more than likely seized through lack of movement.

New tyres before leave site, tyres will have flats due to no movement and walls likely to be cracking due to age and UVL I would not risk towing incase of blow out especially on motor way if use one to get home.

Don,t Forget your flashers and brake lights and extension mirrors would not wont you to be pulled by Pc Plod on your way home,
