We have had no other problems zips ect are all fine. If we lowered the front steadies would this not make the front sag then even if we raise the back ones on wood blocks .We don't have axles just the less down bill no one else has either . We will have prprobe moving it now as we have put a floor in the awning x
Think i know what you are saying.
Dosent matter if you have made a floor, You are just making the van a little higher off the ground. Even 2 axle stands are better than none,Jack the van put axle stands under the axle behind each wheel,Just lift the van a couple of inches will make a vast differance, Glossop told you to do this, I have seen it it done it & got the T shirt, it will work for you
According to the original post Glossop advised lifting the van using the steadies, no mention of using anything else which shows how little they know!
They would of course have denied saying that if the OP had went ahead and used the steadies to lift the van and caused damage.
I agree the best way is to use axle stands on a firm base like a small paving slab or similar but getting it right could be tricky if ground is sloping and uneven.

You Get a sweat on Even harder to sort out as it is a twin axle, But Its hand brake on,All legs off the ground,Jack the van up a view inches, axle stand under axle,(this is just to take the wheel off the ground or you just want the wheel or wheels off the van so it dont get stolen)Once the van is higher and level(width ways) put the legs down leveling the van length ways.I use a awning companion to tighten the awning up, It is as tight as a drum,Never moves touch wood.

This pic shows how far the van was not level,So jack up level with axles stands, Then legs down, All 4 of the wheels are off the ground.
Vangoman,Totally agree with you, Glossop were wrong to tell anyone to level a van with the legs

Hi if you go on my profile I have put 2 pics on of the awning as I don't know how to put them up on here you will see the front is OK it's the side back panel that is bagging and not taut any winds and it flaps like mad
Looking at your pic, Your van does need jacking up, I bet when it rains, the water pools on the roof making it sag. All so helps if you put elastic through the eyes on the panels,Stops the panels blowing inwards and helps to tighten the sides. I think by the time you have lifted the van, The step will be very low.

Hi bill how would you jack it up just at the back or back and front . What about the jockey wheel do we jack that up. Also what do do you mean pu elastic through the eyes on the panels can you explain it please as we are going up to the van on Sunday and will try what you suggest as yours looks great thanks
Ok. . wind the legs up a few inches, put a trolly jack under the van close to the wheel as possible.(jacking point) Put some timber under the wheel,I guess 4" looking at ya pic. Do the same on the other side. Now make sure your van is level WIDTH. Now put your legs down,Level LENGTH,You might need timber under the feet too.4" should give your 2"lift on either side panel,Make sure your hand brake is on when jacking.
If you look at your pic. you can see white tags, with a hole in. Ok, these are for putting elastic through and peg like mine if you look, this helps to stop damage to your awning windows when its windy, Plus I put veranda poles in my awning.Wheres theres a hole theres a peg in it,Plus i put extra poles in the roof. My awning is up from the start of the season to the end. But time i have left the awning up for winter. And no it wont move.

Thanks Bill thing is the floor is cut round the wheel so going to have difficulty getting a jac k in there will Defford raise the legs about 4 ins though see if that helps would you put anything under the jockey or not.we will tie the eyelets with elastic though for the windows we lso have some guy rope we can use . W have got 2 extra veranda poles in also 2 roof poles . We are going to leave it up all winter this is the first year seasonal and most other are leaving theirs up. We went last we'd after the gales only thing that had happened was the canvas had come up at the back . And 1 roof pole had come down that's why we need to sort it. At the front and thefront side we have lifted the floor and tucked the awning skirt under so iit's pretty secure but the floor at the cack is slightly short so can't do it there
