Hi we have a new 2017 bailey Madrid and got a new Kampala awning we’ve had a right job threading the awning through the rail it’s on a season pitch and hope we don’t have as much trouble getting it of any ideas

The rest of the thread says silicone spray in the awning rail does the job. Have you done that?

When I clean the caravan I use a small shoe brush, apply silicone spray to the brush bristles to clean and lubricate the awning channel. The brush is a good fit for the awning channel.

I used a pulley in the awning eyelet but awing stuck, eyelet ripped & I went back & hit the ground with such force thought I'd broke my back .been in a lot of pain for almost a week. So be careful using the eyelet. Brought the awning new last year & this was second time using. Will get silicone spray for the tails to use next week. Might help

Seriously we use a dog lead clips on easy and clips off easy

Same here...Dog lead of flee bay around 7-8 quid clips on clips off easy peasy.

I use silicon spray, which makes pulling the awning through the rail much easier. But I also use an awning rail protector strip to save cleaning the rail of spiders and dirt. Also, when used over winter outside storage, it reduces black drip marks on side of van. Both spray and rail protectors are available on a well-known online market.

Agreed, a can of silicon spray is probably the caravaner’s best friend.
