I have a car and caravan both with 13 pin so that works well.
I also have a small trailer and a boat trailer both of which have 7 pin 12n plug on a light board. I have a very small and neat adaptor for this which can live in the 13 pin car socket or on the light board plug.
I would say the 13 pin socket and plug are far superior to the old 7 pin kit and converting would be a good way to go rather than spend good money on the old systems.
Ray, (bit of a post hijack) just fitted my cameras to the van and wired them into the fridge circuit, they work a treat. Video cables come through back of car to connectors at front near camera mounted on dashboard. Sorry OP for the hijack

Hi Kenny
Thanks for that. I was thinking of a direct feed via the old 12n if i fitted a 13pin plug.
Got to do a bit more digging on the disco wiring at the rear.
I know the sat nav screen in the SE, will take the camera direct.
