Motor movers should be fitted as standard on caravans.
When you are younger, they are a convenience, but when you are older they are essential.

I have yet to meet anyone, who wished they'd never had a MM installed.

I even had then fitted on a little pennine sterling. It made it a doddle to tuck it away in a corner of my sloping drive.

Motor movers are a great add on if the caravan is stored in a tight spot or the van is too heavy for the owner to manoeuvre slightly by hand, but I’ve been amazed by some people who completely rely on them ,I.e they simply can’t reverse into an easy pitch.
The weight off your payload should be considered and if that’s worth the expense if it will rarely be used.

Although I am quite capable of reversing into an 'easy' pitch I still use my MM. Less strain on my clutch and more precise control. I also use it for hitching up, easier and more precise control. It's also perfect for parking my van into a relatively tight spot in the storage yard. I'm in my 70s and have no interest in manhandling my caravan. My MM is the best purchase I made IMHO. Why not take advantage of something that makes life easier? I have no interest of demonstrating my skill at reversing my van to anyone.

Absolutely in agreement with you John. I'm usually on my own, so have no one acting as 'banksman' to act as eyes and ears when manoeuvring relatively blind, and whilst I'm more than capable of reversing van onto pitch, or up to hitch to attach van, it seems pointless doing it 'the hard way' when I can use MM to do it with ease and minimal risk, I likewise don't need to prove to anyone that I CAN drive!
