I'm with both, ccc for caravan insurance that from experience is excellent, camc for Mayday breakdown cover, both clubs sites are good but are expensive when you have to pay around £50 a year membership
Been in both for 45/46 years, we want the coverage of locations that offers, largely their 5 van sites.
By far, we use the C&CC membership the most, for the very flexible rally and the temporary holiday system they operate.
Have found the C&MC has become utterly useless for any main site stays involving a weekend. Their "booking system" as it works in real life is not functioning as the name might imply but a "Blocking system".
Its two year "window" with no associated commitment, allows speculative booking, and the self evident happens, all weekend slots are booked out, just incase come that week "we" want & can go.
So be warned, don't assume joining the C&MC means you can use their sites, the speculative demand outstrips the availability. That said if you have the option to decide two days before going then you are likely to get in, the more so if the weather forecast is not the best.
I read, they are reviewing this dreadful setup, great for us if they do change it so we can take our typical longer stays, once again.
We are members of both. If I had to choose it would definitely be the Caravan Club. Their online booking system is much easier to use than the Caravan and Camping Club.
We are C&CC members. We did look at both when we joined and thought it suited us best. Since then the more we hear and read convinces us that we made the right choice. We don't like regimented sites where all the caravans etc have to be placed exactly on markers and all lined up in neat rows. We much prefer "random" sites where you can pitch any way round you like. Most of the C&CC sites we have been on have been like that which is why we chose them.
We don't like the C&MC system of being able to block-book numerous sites just in case you want to go, but stopping others from doing so. On the other hand, the booking system with the C&CC could be better and simpler.
We don't always use C&CC sites though, we use whichever is handiest for us at the time, either Club or commercial.

I have mentioned previously in other postings on this topic, we joined the C&CC because when we first had our trailer tent we were seeking a site we had been told about but could not find it.
While driving around the area, I suddenly spotted some tents in a field and decided that must be it. As We drove along the track into the field I realised it was a private meeting. The organiser met us and I apologised for the mistake and asked the whereabouts of the site we were seeking.
He asked us we we had our own toilet facilities and then welcomed us to stay with them.
We were only too happy to join a club that made us so welcome.
