£2,000 but then I have to part x my car now. A Jeep Cherokee M which is ok but it makes funny noises and leaks bits and pieces so we are wondering if to get rid of the jeep and get that but obviuosly we want to be better off not worse lol
We bought our Maverick in Feb this year, it tows our van with ease, and boy do we use it. We go away about every other weekend and in between I use it for short trips to work there is loads of room and the high driving position is excellent for visability.. Hope we wont get anything major go wrong but you never can tell.
Only thing I don't like is filling up at the pumps but then thats what you have to endure if you want this type of vehicle.
we have had our terrano about 6 months (n reg) or should i say the garage has, been back nearly every week for one problem or another, head gasket, cam shifted, oil leaks, water leaks, lights fused, bushes worn, exhaust blown then knocking etc etc i will never have another. As far as towing just bought (yesterday) new abbey 1495kg no problem (for now) on journey home 125 miles.
I get about 29mpg out of a Hyundai Terracan solo, heavy right foot, but loads of power and acceleration in reserve. I'ver been at 85mph with a Hobby Caravan without realizing, which maxs at 1500kg but was overloaded I know, plus the Terracan was loaded boot and rear seats with a brute of an Isabella awning+ poles, drills , tools etc:
( I go prepared) .
There was still plenty more left if you had a death wish. Funny thing with the hobby towing , it's never lost stability once, even at speed, very forgiving, more than I can say for The Swift Conqueror with a twin axle before it.
It used to cause me heart failure in a LWB Isuzu Trooper 3.0 tdi on the M6.
We have a terrano 2 - its a beast - makes no pretence to be anything else. good 2nd hand prices - our is the LWB 7 str which has room for everything and then some. nose weight to a maximum of 120kg and tows 2800 kgs.. say no more..
our cristall is the same bentaxle - is absolutely stable - maybe the germans have got it right or the cristalls theory of a longer A frame works!
