dig some manure into your flower beds. If he complains about the smell, say you don't smell anything and it must be all the crap he talks!

This is awful for you,  This neighbour definitely seems to have a major problem.  I don't think I would have moved the van and let him try to take legal action,

Jealousy is an awful thing. Go out in your van and just enjoy and think of your neighbours sat at home looking for something to complain about as mine do, and tell them to *f* off and get a life.MMMMMMMMMMMMM    LOL.

i know where you are coming from with anti-caravan neighbours. we arrived home yesterday to find next doors cars (8of ) parked at strategic points near our drive meaning it would be impossible to reverse the `van into the drive. they stood and watched as we struggled to push it up the slope of the drive.not an offer to move any of their cars or give us a push.

this seems to happen every time we are out with the caravan now. seriously thinking about storage as an option but why the hell should i pay £200 - £300 a year when ive got room at home ?

hope you get your problem sorted.i think the clapped out camper restoration project is a top idea.

Bev and Jon, Don't give in to your evil neighbours...they are sick with jealousy and should never be allowed to win the issue with your caravan storage......Keep it at home and don't let them see you are concerned about their attempts to stop you!....

Can I just say that in my experience, personal and professional ,disputes with neighbours cause untold stress and nobody 'wins' whatever the issue.

here in Sheffield we do have a mediation service to help  in these sorts of issues ,preventing them escalating. Yes you may have right on your side in terms of the law and you have complied  to their  request by moving your van. If this really doen't suit you you may have to try to sit down with them and thrsh out your differences. If they are unreasonable and not open to this sort of approach ,then a third party arbitrating may help.

Sorry to go on and probably stating the obvious but my experience is that escalating things just gets people more stressed and feeling besieged in their own homes, which should be your haven(apart from caravan of course).

Hope you get a good resolution to this.

Regards Siobhan K

Very much agree with Siobhan, the legalities seem less important than working together to find compromises and solutions which make future relations a lot better and thus life a lot more relaxed.

If they do this again, leave your caravan parked outside their front window on the road, and if they complain tell them you are unable to put it away as their cars are blocking your access. Two can play at that game, don't let them win this you have as much right to park blocking their access as they have to block yours. If this is not to your taste I would certainly not pay the fees for storage, I would rather spend more money one year and buy a mover for the van rather than try to manhandle a caravan up a slope. Two or three years worth of storage fees pays for the mover.

I was gonna suggest getting a motormover just to see the look on their faces when you unhitch it and the van makes its own way on to the drive. Told OH I want one but can't afford it just yet

This is exactly what I have done on my new caravan, I don't have a problem with the neighbors but there is always a lot of cars parked opposite my drive, but since having a mover fitted it doesn't matter who or what is parked there because I can get it on my drive all on my own now with the mover.
It must be a real pain when you have a*se h**es that live next to you and do this kind of thing.
