Just bought the clips. I might as well get them whilst he has got them. For that price anyway.
I had a look at the satellite idea but thought I might as well go for the aerial idea first as i've already got the freeview box. I'll post again when I've got the set-up sorted.
Managed to put up the new aerial this weekend. It's the Image 530/18. Those fencing clips are brilliant. It would have to be some wind to bring the pole down with them in place.
Getting a good picture and even Ulster's channel 4. More suitable than S4C for us. Also receiving RTE1 &2. But not able to capture pictures from Freeview. Silly really because the guy in the adjacent van has the exact same aerial as ours, pole height etc. He reckons he is getting the Freeview pictures but no ITV. We'll just have to be grateful for what we are getting.

Hi hopeful1 glad clips are good if wind gets up put some guy ropes on to steady aerial , with you receiving RTE1 etc isn`t that irish tv, I don`t think you can receive freeview from ireland (not uk freeview), you must be receiving a signal from across irish sea. I myself go a lot to north norfolk and you can`t get freeview from local relay tv mast (only analogue), so I have point aerial across north sea to yorkshire tv to get freeview but use a house aerial. I have got a status image aerial same as yours but it is not as good for picking up freeview (not all the channels). However glad you are getting some channels.

Do you suffer from an OCD. Obsessive Caravan Disorder.
BEING WELSH AND LIVING IN LLANBERIS RIGHT AT THE FOOT OF SNOWDON, I CAN TELL YOU UNLESS YOU CAN SEE THE MAST AT PENMON, WHICH BASICALLY IS IN ANGLESEY, YOU CAN FORGET IT, WE SHOULD BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO GET THE SWITCHOVER IF YOU BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY, HOPE IT DOESNT SPOIL YOURE TIME IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD.
Have a look at this link of freeview transmitter map of uk and click on transmitters for North Wales, I see a couple for up that way. You can see coverage map of area and read comments.

It couldn't spoil it in a million years. What a beautiful part of the country to live in. We feel so lucky to have found a season pitch in your neck of the woods. Particularly like that friendly pub in Nan Peris; the Vynal Arms.
About the poor signal: They will have to do something for the folk who live in your part of the world as not everybody will be able to afford satellite tv. I'm beginning to think this is something else that government haven't thought through properly.
Well do they ever think anything through properly?

OK, some of the channels are coming from Ireland, North and South but we are receiving C5 plus ITV BBC Wales and BBC2. As long as we have something. I might buy another aerial like you have or I might try putting up an extension to the pole.
