I have just read my policy details and you ARE covered whilst towing.
If there is any particular small print that people think is not good then let me know because it looks standard stuff to me.

I have my van with E & L and have looked through it and dont really see anything wrong i also paid year upfront so 13 payments dont bother me. I would like for the people on here who have actually taken insurance with them to comment on the company and why they dont or do like them.
I had E&L insurance , after the first year they increased my direct debit payments without informing me and also uprated my policy cover without asking if i wanted the extra cover ( which i did not ).
I got a quote from them a couple of years ago, then they rang back and asked for more details about my storage site. When I explained to them they (fortunately) said they wouldn't be able to insure me. Six months later I moved my 'van onto my own property, and my sister-in-law took over my old storage spot. E & L insured her without any questions!
Three months ago, whilst renewing, she tried the CC. When she told then her chassis no., they correctly pointed out that the number was incomplete, the 'van may have previously been stolen, and of course, was unable to insure it. Yet E & L had accepted this same number without raising a query. Fortunately she then changed her 'van and insured it with another company; but I thinnk she was lucky, because from some of the stories other 'vanners tell, E & L may not have paid out on the old 'van because of the incorrect chassis no.
will keep it short, our old van had three front windows cracked by tyre exploding in front of us on the motorway, cost about £600.eeco would not make without money up front,E+L would not pay until they were made.like a tennis match.for weeks we had no windows in the van and lost holidays and deposits.made our caravan life miserable.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Ditto also had my Jack Russel insured with them he developed eczema and after
e&l paid out twice for his tablets & treatment refused to cover him anymore and left me with a £500 bill that I thought I was covered for, also they never paid out the full amount of the vets bill so I gave up on them. now insured with caravan guard for van
and CC for dog.

Exactly the same here, they upped my level of insurance and added on a platinum members club charge all without my knowledge, so cancelled immediately, got my money back for the platinum club and moved to caravan guard.

Same for me, I'm well chuffed with Caravanguard as well, they refunded me £40 when I put my caravan onto a seasonal, as the security is better than our drive.
