we came home today as planned from our caravan, although the weather has been awful we didnt get the wind the rest of s wales got , just the wet rain. saturday was lovely kids playing in the lake with rubber dinghy, sunday and monday was wet wet wet but we throuogly enjoyed it we visted the tourist information shop got some leaflets and brochures , there were some booklets about the local history so we got them and read all about the local history , castle etc, we then got some local maps and drove some of the hill roads, found some lovely little places to picnic in nicer weather, got back to the caravana and sat looking at places to go and visit, reading the maps chosing where to go next, then sat cosied up in the van playing games, board games, we donned our waterproofs and went for a walk with the dog.
some areas have had some atrocious weather we have been very luck in deed
Hope those that did come home are ok and dont let it put you off, im sure mr sunshine is just around the corner

If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

Had an acceptable few days at Buxton Saturday to Monday.
Came home early on Monday instead of Tuesday as the winds were so bad we didn't want to risk another night and all the kit was dry.
Went in a tent for the first time in years!!!!!!
Oh, and the pup slipping her lead and chasing a field full of beautiful lambs didn't help the atmosphere
Arrived at California (Norfolk) on Friday morning, blue sky and sunshine all day. Then we had three days of non-stop wind, though Saturday was still sunny. Sunday was absolutely dreadful, rained continually from 5am till 9pm, fine on Monday but still gale force winds. More than once we didn't think the awning would survive, but it did, though we did discover that it leaks! We were glad that we were in our caravan this time - had we been in the tt we would have been on the cliff top field and would probably have given up early. Lots of people who only arrived on Saturday left again on Sunday, and others left early on Monday - there was an absolute mountain of abandoned tents, and broken poles and windbreaks, left by the dustbins. Of course, as per sod's law, when we were packing up this morning to come home the wind had gone and the sun was even trying to shine!
