As somebody already pointed out earlier in the thread "life is a risk", so in no way am i saying don't use the third row.

Just that if there is no need to use them when towing then don't.

We have two children at the moment with number three on the way.

We were thinking of letting our oldest sit in one of the third row seats to give him more room etc.

After seeing that crash, we decided that when towing that is not going to happen.

He will sit on a booster cushion, between the two baby seats.

Other times, both young ones may have to go in the third row to allow adults to sit in the second row.

It's still a risk with a rear end accident, but at least there shouldn't be a three foot "A" shaped harpoon ready to puncture the back!

This was a freak accident, so should be treated that way.

I was just so surprised at the results of a rear end towing accident.
