most important kit is the fishing rods! I spend my life surrounded by computers so when I go away I wouldnt dream of taking a laptop with me. I do confess that I do have 2 items of high tech kit - my bite alarms

We usually take a tv (although don't watch it much) and the kids have Nintendo DS's (mainly for the journey and to keep them quiet if they wake up early) and of course we have cameras and mobile phones but we would like our kids to realise that there is more to life than watching tv or playing on console games.
We do take a radio and CD's to listen to as well but they are not high tech. And our youngest likes to take his telescope so that he can look at the stars at night!
