I can live without the cross activator as I have about 18 inches up one side of the van, well I can get in to drop the legs and check me tyres so should be okay. the other side is fine. gram remember you saying you could get a feeler guage between your van and the wall but not a lot more

Colin i have just had a Rhyno mover fitted to my Bailey Ranger i cant fault it,it took 2hrs for them to fit it and has a lifetime guarentee, also all parts are BRITISH made all this for £775.
I had a Rhyno on my Avondale Ulysses, would highly recommend them.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
'Definitley have a cross activator, false economy not to. Even on a hard standing you can have to stand in the mud to wind on the off side motor. (plus its quicker)'
Cross activators are irrelevant if you can get to both sides. Quicker - how strapped for time are you. If you cant engage the off side motor without standing in mud, then how are you going to wind steadies, connect water and electric etc.?
The advantages of not having a one are only having to use half the force to engage and a sizeable reduction in weight. Plus less to go wrong. If you have your van up against a wall you have to have one, otherwise don't bother.
OOps! Sorry if I hit a nerve there. All I can say is that I am very glad I had the cross activator included with my Powr mover. It is two less runs around the caravan in the pouring rain, and it does mean you can apply it from either side no matter where you are, or where you find yourself having to park. It is only a single bar with two clamp bolts. Not that much to go wrong and it only weighs about 2-4kg
I am really pleased you are happy with the Rhino, it simply was not my choice. I think it sits a little lower too.
You didn't hit a nerve at all, its just that anyone wishing to buy a mover deserves to hear various opinions.
I have a very quick way of pitching the van - I reverse it on. I have to have a mover because the only way of storing a van at home is nose down ( 20% slope ).
Its not the complexity of an actuator I dislike so much. If you take a 2m bar and apply a torque at one end and an opposite torque at the other end, it acts as a spring ( torsion bar ). This means that you don't just need to apply twice the force to apply the rollers but also extra force to overcome the spring in the bar.
The original posters caravan was a twin axle.
The rhyno has the most ground clearance of any mover and is also the lightest.

No, as Brian says it has the best ground clearance of all of them. In an article in Practical Caravan a couple of years back which compared Rhyno with Powrtouch, Carver and Reich it came out top for best value, highest ground clearance and lightest weight.
It's also safe to leave on, so if you have to park up next to a wall and can't get to one side to take it off, it can be left on ready to move out.
I had one on my Ulysses which I had for two years and always did that. It doesn't harm the tyres at all.
If I could afford to get one for my Bailey I'd get a Rhyno again, no contest.

good feedback Caz, think I will go for one as it will certainly be a lot easier than having to find a passing bert to give me a hand bringing the thing off the driveway and pushing it back on. plus the fact that it is 10 kilos lighter than the powrtouch and 15 less than the purpleline means less digging into my load allowance
we have just bought a lunar lexon 575EB (2007) and keep getting mixed messages from people about having a mover fitted. do they make positioning your van on sites easier ? we seem to give people entertainment when we arrive at the minute cos we are rubbish at it!!! we store our van at a caravan storage place and seem to manage the manovering there ok.
