Well many thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
We have decided we will not be going winter caravanning without .....
COPIOUS amounts of : Bubble wrap, torches, propane, bedding, polystyrene, warm clothes, wellies, waterproofs, alcohol (of choice), comfort food and not forgetting EHU, slow cooker, hard standing, porch awning, large bucket and the Caravan of course!!!!!
Just enjoy yourselves. Common sense will prevail and you'll have a great time ~ if you have not got everything it adds to the fun and the story telling!
Gas - trust me, when you wake up with 6 inches of snow on the caravan and the gas ran out in the night, it can take a hardy person to go and change the bottle!!!!!
------------- How do you get 5 kids and two parents in one small caravan...give up and buy a bigger one!!!

Well in my case, I wouldnt go winter 'vanning without a Hymer carvan!!!
Pual system means high insulation of walls, floor and roof; the internal water tank means no worries for water, and all the pipework runs are not only internal, but also right next to the blown heating ducts.
Oh yeah, baby! A bottle of gas, a comfy duvet for the superb fixed bed, and a cup of bedtime hot choccy while you snuggle down with your book is all you need!
Mr Hymer does make exceedingly good caravans.
------------- Veni Vidi Velcro.... I came, I saw, I stuck around!
were going away from the 27th till the 2nd of jan and would say take a aquarol jacket to stop it freezing and lag the pipe thats what we do and have had no problems as of yet
We were out his weekend and didn't bother connecting up the water, we had a serviced pitch ie our own tap and filled a jug for the kettle/washing-up/washing and a pump flack for handwashing. It was ok! So much less to set up/pack down!
