Crikey! Dont no what to make of this! Im close to buying a Bailey Pageant Provence series 6 2007. Perfect layout and size etc for us, and a big upgrade from our 19 year old "starter" van, but after reading some of this, and being no expert....
hi there-the older pagaents are great the only reason we are changing is that our daughter is a little older now so we wanted a fixed bed for ourselves and a little extra comfort. We have searched around for a while now and discovered problems with the new baileys and felt they have not proved themselves enough with the new shell as you have to have the interior furnishing stripped after 3 years so they can tighten the torque settings on the bolts and all at your expense £300 to £400 and your warranty is void if you dont have it done and before all allutech owners complain its only what i have been told by both salespeople and people i know within the trade.we was offered the swift on a very good deal so thats why we chose it and there reputation for quality and you cant argue with that...On the plus side i would highly reccommend the pre allutech baileys which are fantastic vans but just check the rear corners for damp as this was an issue on a few models other than that a fantastic van and hope you get what you want and enjoy it
I would go for a Sterling as our previous Bailey Bretagne had cheap nasty fittings. Two of my family members both have Sterling Europa 540 and 530,s and they are excellent vans with good fittings and overall well kitted out. Although if you can afford it go for a Swift as they are the best in my opinion (Apart from Lunar Delta SB !!!)

have the interior furnishing stripped after 3 years
that will be the pop out plastic trim between ceiling and wall.not a massive job really
It is when it's your £400 that's got to pay for it but don't blame mr it's what I have been told??
i thought anyone with an alutech or looking into buying one would have known that.£150 retorque fee we were told + the 3rd year service cost,i`ll worry about it in January 2013 if it hasnt fallen to bits by then
good luck with the van bev and john i hope they dont rip you off with the servicing charge but you know what dealers are like one day its £150 the next its £300 dont think they actually know yet what its goin to cost but heard few nasty whispers about damp ingress in the fronts of the pegasus dont know if its exactly true but heard from someone in the trade
