We're in Cumbria too so have the same problem re lack of access to products. We got Fenwicks last year, but I have to say it wasn't anything special. After all the posts on here we got some One dry wash at the Caravan show, so we can clean the van 'onsite' without causing offence (some ppl don't seem to like others cleaning their vans?). We find it really hard to wash when it's in storage as limited access to water. The one Dry Wash stuff is brilliant, seems to get the black marks off no probs and so far one bottle has gone round the caravan 3-4 times and there's still some left, so for what it is, pretty good value for money. Saying that, your 'black marks', look a little more challenging than ours!! Let us know what you get and whether it works :-)

Obviously, I must be using too much One Dry Wash (or perhaps my van is slightly larger). The other reason is that I'm obviously giving too many demonstrations.
At Easter when we were at Wareham Forest, some folk watched me in action with the One Dry Wash. After a conversation, he went out and found a local supplier and bought some. I sometimes feel I could make a mint selling the stuff.
After saying that, I think all the dry washes are very similar - I might just try some of the Care-avan equivalent next time. I have to say One Dry Wash works brilliantly on black streaks - no problem.
OK - so today I went out and spent a good hour and a half trying to get it clean
I tried G3 - both diluted and then neat
I tried Black Streak Remover - 3 times
I then tried Muck Off
The marks are all still there - maybe a little bit better (especially after the Muck Off which , judging by what was on the cloth, seemed to be the best thing so far)
Can I get Silky or the One Dry Wash on line?
The marks are only on the near side of the van (which will have the awning up). There's nothing on the other side, the back or front.
I'm saying black streaks but they aren't really because black streaks come from things like corners of windows and running lights etc.
Is the fact the van is dimpled making any difference.
Anyway, some after shots from today. Still think it's not too bad for a van that's 12/13 years old that's lived outside not covered all it's life
see how dimpled it is
other side
Ignore the very bad sealing job that was done on it earlier this year - that we actually paid good money to have done!!
Cumbrian here too (hevonly, my father-in-law was brought up in elterwater, his grandparents owned Britannia Inn),.We're a soft water area so I was going to try some diluted soda crystals to shift a couple of stubborn marks on our van, I'll let you know the results
Yeah!! Have to agree about the sealing. I was going to do it myself but had no where inside to store it to keep it dry when doing it
(sorry back on my own id now)
Could have done it better myself BUT it's wind and water tight and fit to camp in and tow
Just bugging me how to get the finish even

Thank you - but not Bob!! lol
It's an ABI Eivissa 495b - 1996 or 7.
We've had it since about 1999/2000 but only used it for the first 2 or 3 years and it's been sat there since. It's all ready to go to Cornwall this summer now. I know the marks won't affect it's use but i want to try and make it look a bit nicer next to all those big new white ones (not really, it's wind and water tight and will do what is needed of it)

if not thought of you will need new tyres after this length of time.should be changed at 5 years anyway.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Aldi have caravan cleaner for £2.99, I think it is, I have some and it's really good.
That dimpled finish looks a bugger to clean!
Regarding tyres, the cheapest place appears to be etyres.com they come to your home, work or anywhere, not sure about caravan tyres, but it's worth enquiring as they are really cheap!
Thanks Michael it got new tyres about a month ago - the ones it had on had been new but that was about 4 years back and as it's been stood all that time (we did occasionally move it back and forth a bit down the road) we thought it best to replace ten
I think a while back you gave us info on mobile fitters but there was no one in this area
Never thought of a sift nail brush - would be Thete all week with that but will try with a soft car/ caravan brush
