Blowing the cobwebs of my memory - doesn't this fit into the 'construction and use' regs. If the vehicle (trailer and towcar) is CAPABLE of carrying goods then the towing vehicle must be sufficient to cope with the maximum permissable weight of the trailer being towed.

If not I believe you would be committing an offence.

This is getting complicated. The National caravan Council's towing guide gives chapter and verse. If you can tick all those boxes all should be well.

I finally got my upgrade through. For my £66 I get an ordinary stick on label to replace the existing weight plate. In addition are two stylish badges measuring over 6" x 3" stating "Bailey Max Load Upgrade". What the hell am I supposed to do with them? (Realistic answers only please).

I've got to go and collect mine this morning - we're off tomorrow. I'm expecting another NCC document too, with the weights on? I've been told about these extra stickers. Might put one on the back of the van and the other one near the plate. Alternatively, leave them off for a while and stick them on if and when dents come into play!!
