It can also be noisy - especially for your neighbours! We just sleep with the rooflights, and possibly a window open, and have a fan opposite us at the foot of the bed. IF we were doing a lot of 'hot weather' (abroad camping), i may possibly look at it. But it think its something to spend money on when you have run out of other ideas, for the UK.
No idea what a 'tyrepal' is. But if its something to tell you that you have a flat tyre, you shouldnt really be driving, if the 'feel' of the outfit doesnt tell you this already. Another gizmo to spend money on when you dont have to!
We have air con and even at full blast you can hardly hear it when sitting outside so chances of neighbours hearing it are very low. Anyway why run an air con at full blast when you can set it to about 20C and the thermostat switches it on and off as required. At night we have it on low and have no issue sleeping as it is definitely not noisy.
As for your remark regarding having a flat tyre you are way off beam. If you have a twin axle and have a puncture in one of the tyres there is no way that you will know. Even on a single axle it would be hard to discern a slow puncture until the tyre blows at which point you will know that you have an issue. A Tyrepal would advise you that the tyre is below pressure so that you can react and resolve any issue before the tyre blows.
You've obviously got better kit than the £90k motorhome that rolled up next to us. I thought - and asked him, whether his engine fan was kicking in 2 hours after he arrived. He said it was his air-con, that they dont use at night because it keeps them awake. Again, not really needed in the UK unless you have lots of spare cash to lose.
Tyrepal??? How did we manage before? I don't recall the roads littered with vehicles or caravans back in the day. Again, if you've nothing better to spend your money on. Is there a gadget that tells you your wheel-nuts are coming loose. Or steering rack about to let go? See what im getting at? Where do you stop - short of giving up driving.
Just to update this folks, we have now placed a deposit on the Challenger Grande 670 SE 2023.
As part of the deal we have been offered Powrtouch AWD Manual, but we upgraded to auto for only £390. And we also had the following thrown in for free.
Aquaroll
Wastemaster
Mirrors
Level Ramp
Hitch Cover (probably given this free anyway)
2 x AL-KO Wheel locks are also supplied with the SE version which is a great saving, as some insurance companies ask this.
We will also add the weight plate upgrade, becasue as it stands now with the AWD, we only have 110kg to play with.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Forget ramps ... get 'Lock and Level' ... brilliant kit and gets you accurately level ...
Movers: absolutely.
Web never worked about the number of beds/bunks etc ... sooner or later they'll want independence ... so ... fewer beds in the van and a couple of pop-up tents is a much cheaper option!
Will you be camping abroad, or only UK?
We only camp on the continent (store the caravan in France as we'd never use it at home) ... so we don't have a caravan awning ... just a Fiama roll out, which saves a heap of time.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
