I have just collected my Baily Executive 198o`s caravan from storage to do some work on it before we go away in a few weeks. I have lost the keys!!!
Any ideas how to get replacements or a new lock and how much I am going to have to pay???

Look on the locks to see if there is a number on them, if so ring your local caravan dealer they may carry / or be able to get you new keys. We misplaced the keys when away one weekend and managed to get new keys from a local dealer. A bit to easy really!!
Good luck

Yep the old vans had keys numbered, I think, up to about 40 so they should be able to tell you which number you need.

Do you know anyone else with a 1980's van, i remember reading a post on here last year about someone who had helped clear some old vans from a storage place and i'm sure they said that there van keys fitted quite a few vans that had no keys. If nothing else if you can find a key that fits it, it will save you having to break the the barrel to get in it. Good Luck.

if you have any old car keys
try them as 80's locks on vans
tend to be old car ones
ie morris 1000 / austin 1100/1300 stuff like that

Take the lock into a locksmith, they may be able to cut a copy from the lock. Check the cost first as a new lock is only about £25.

We wanted an extra key, our dealer had a small stand with various keys, it did not take long to find one the same as ours. We were amazed there were so few different ones!
Take your van to your local dealer and ask if you can take the stand to your van and try them all.

Any reputable locksmith should be able to open the van and fit a new lock or supply new keys.
Any teenage scroat will be able to open van even quicker, but not supply new key or lock

With our recent dip in form I think its sunderland and derby for the prem. we will have to go via playoffs. I hope I`m wrong though!!!
They asked if I had my lock number I said no. Your stuck then was the reply. Bring the lock in was the next suggestion to get a new one!!! I cant get in the bloody van let alone take the lock off. I think I may have to ask a locksmith or drill the lock and get a new one.

When my van was broken into, I thought someone here had left the door unlocked because we had both sets of keys here.
I was told that all you need to do to get in is put pressure on the handle & keep it there, the lock turns out of itself & in you go. Whether this is the case on your van, you'll be advised to ask your dealer. You can then change the door lock without having to break in & cause damage.
To be honest, I wouldn't expect a door lock to cost very much.

I once used mt car key by mistake and the lock barrel nearly came out. Says it all about the effectiveness of the locks.
