Having read about some peoples unfortunate experiences, thought I would redress the balance, (just hope this isn't tempting fate!). We picked up our Lunar Quasar 525 from Campbells  at Preston on the Thursday before Good Friday, we were a bit wary about picking it up on this day as we were booked to go away on Good Friday, but went with it anyway. We arrived as arranged at 10 am, spoke to the salesman who told us to go down to the bottom of the sales area to inspect the 'van & see if it was all ok. So we wandered down to the bottom area where there were about 5 vans waiting to be picked up. Spoke to one of the "handover" staff who took us into the van, to our surprise it was all "up & running", plugged into the mains, battery fitted, heating on, gassed up with the hot & cold water systems filled & working. This meant we could check EVERYTHING was ok on delivery, so we fired the cooker , ran the blown air, had a shower,(well maybe didn't actually have a shower) but ran some water through it, try the radio, microwave etc. Don't really know what more they could have done to check it was all ok so we were well pleased that everything should be ok. All the vans awaiting pick up were the same, not just the new ones, & once the guy had explained anything we wanted to know, eg how digital fridge works etc. he left us alone to take our time & be sure that it was all ok then we should go to the salesman to finalise the deal & they would prepare it for hitching up. When this was all done (no rushing us round the caravan), they helped us hitch up , explaining the stabiliser hitch etc, we left confident of a good weekend to come.

Did we have any problems, not really-the connection on the hook up lead overheated & tripped out after 24 hours on site, which needed a replacement plug (£2.65), but has been fine since- the live connection in the plug on the hook up lead was probably not fully nipped up allowing it to short. Other than that, everything  worked perfectly (touchwood). Obviously things can go wrong with anything but Campbells seem to do everything that they can to avoid problems when you pick your 'van up so all  can do is praise their handover procedure as being as good as it could be.

See you all soon, Bernard.

P.S. must now update my profile- this should be a laugh for the next 3 hours!!
