I am looking to buy a used static, preferably sited around Tenby/pembroke. I`m looking for the cheapest ground rent fees if anyone can help. I don`t want the big site prices, far to dear.
Ideally a pool, pub and chipper quite close. I`m looking for ground rents for about £1000, and perhaps a static around £3000 sited.
I'd second Andy, the cheapest Static ground rents we've come across are about £2000. Plus sites are really fussy about the age of statics, a £3000 van would be quite old.
It might be possible, with a lot of searching, but if you did find such a site, it would probably be a really basic site (farmer diversifying) where the owners aren't bothered about the age of the van, and I wouldn't see it having a pool!
We've gone for the second option, we bought a 26' tourer and site it permanently. Seasonal rent varies from about £500 to £1800 depending on what facilities you want. I pay just over £1000 and ours only has a play area (which I'm quite happy with). Plus most sites aren't bothered about the age of the van.
Didn't mean to pour cold water on your idea, best of luck with the search! Have you tried going a bit more North, towards Cardiganshire?
Most sited statics have a "shelf life " of 15 yrs maximum, then they need to be removed, so the price you pay reflects not only the vans condition, but the length of time left on the agreement. Buying a reasonable sized tourer, and sticking it on a permenant pitch is the best option, and subject to it being kept in reasonable condition, usually has no time limitations.
It's all been said S'Bow . . . . . a site with all the facilities you mention AND allow an older van on it is going to be very difficult to find. I have a close friend in the industry and he says that high standards have to be maintained to attract and retain their customers. They also have to maintain their profit margin. Unfortunately that means his site in common with many others, will not accommodate vans any older than ten years. There are some sites that will allow vans up to 15 years old.

A lot of sites also insist on your selling your van back to them when you have had enough! Hard to believe I know, but true. Basically, a static caravan is worthless unless its sited - therefore the site owners have you over a barrel. I'd stick to the idea mentioned above and buy a large tourer then put it on a seasonal pitch.
Thanks for replies guys. I was originally going to get a tourer and do as you say. I just got carried away while on the internet. There was a cracking big tourer for sale last year by me for a grand, I`m p*ssed off I didn`t get it at the time.
