I am trying to sell my 2006 LMC caravan at the moment with little success. It is such a nice caravan and very high spec. I have reduced the price down and down but still nothing. I can not go any lower on price and have run out of ideas on selling it. Any ideas would be great.
As I've been trying to sell my van, I know the situation well. It seems that people want something for nothing. I was offered £500 less than the asking price for my van and the person got the hump as I said no.
I was just wanting to get a slightly bigger van so I don't actually have to get rid of mine, it was just a case of wanting a little more room. It seems I'm not meant to get rid of the van so I will stick with it rather than take well under what it's worth.
It's depressing I know but why not stick with your LMC unless, of course, you're having to get rid of it and not replace it for example.
Have you tried a classified ad on eBay which costs £12.99 for 28 days and there's no other fees involved at all.
Mick & Tina - you're first link to Locate a Caravan, they also have someone ring you and try to charge £50 until such times the van is sold. I had a call from them but was'nt about to part with £50 as I don't know what their success rate is. Do you know? Their chap rang me, very smooth talker, took lots of details and then asked for my card number although no mention at beginning of conversation about their charges!
You do get the free advert although I had a job to find mine at times.
I don't know about others , but when i see makes like LMC and Hobby i instantly assume that they are 8ft wide and illegal to tow on uk roads unless being towed by a commercial vehicle . I expect this will put buyers off , so if your caravan isn't 8ft wide it may be an idea to say so in the add .
Dont bother with ebay, they go for silly cheap prices on there, (I should know I sold my LMC on there!), I would try caravan trader thats where I look and where I bought my last caravan from. If its a 8ft LMC you might have trouble which is a real shame cos theyre bloody good vans (I wanted one but my site wouldnt let me have one so had to get a UK spec twin wheeler)
The problem you will find is most people have got their vans now for the season, most will have changed before the nice weather, so theres lots of vans but less buyers
------------- lifes too short to be sad

Having read your advert on this site I suggest that you include the exact model, the dimensions (body length, overall length, width), number and type of berths, whether the 'van is UK supplied or imported, the list price or price paid new, all the extras rather than just saying "etc", and the MIRO and MPTLM. If you think the price is a bargain, and you have reduced it for a quick sale, then say so and if you have a good reason for selling say that as well. Does it have a spare wheel? TV aerial? Motor Mover? Awning included?
If you include all the detail that prospective purchasers could be interested in, and the price is right, it will sell.
Thank you for all your ideas. I have tried ebay and some 3 cheeky ****s offered me £500 for it. It has been in mags and papers since march 4th with very little response. It is a stunning caravan but 8ft wide. It would be perfect for leaving on a seasonal pitch or for somebody doing a self build and needing a home for a few months. I am not a traveller and put my home number as a contact to try and show I do live in a house. I would love to keep the caravan but have recently moved house and just dont use it and it is a shame to see her just sitting in storage unused and unloved.
Well thank you again and I will just keep trying and crossing my fingers.
LMC Dominant 640 RBD 2006 model. 4 berth, air con, oven. hob, gas and electric blown air heating, fixed island bed, end bathroom, seperate shower, large water boiler, 12v, 2 sky sockets in living room and on outside of the caravan. We will sell with aqua roll, waste master, battery, hitch lock, wheel clamp, sky dish and tripod. It has only been used for three weeks on the Isle of Wight and has been in storage since. It has a small crack in one work surface but other than that it is is vgc. We do not smoke and we never cooked in it. The oven has only ever been lit to test as has the hob. It was purchased from Continental Caravans in Wales and other than the door being on the wrong side it is english spec. It cost £17,500 new and I am asking only £11,750 now for a quick sale. If anybody knows where I may have any luck selling it then please either e mail me at saminglis05 at aol.com or call me on 01634 683956.
