Can anyone tell me if the Status 530 Directional Aerial is any good, or is it better to use the good old fashioned tv aerial on a mast?

yes very good i use one all the time,better than that space ship on top

Thanks thats really helpful, we found the old one useless in all our caravans too, but have the 530 on our new van that we are picking up this week.

I've no experience of the 530 but IMHO you'll have to go a long way to beat the old fashioned aerial on a pole (it's a lot cheaper too, even if it's not so convenient).
