3 trillion barrels x 20 gallons gives 60 trillion gallons

divided by 6 billion gives 10,000 gallons each.  Obviously there isn't yet 6 billion cars.

Ohhh noo!

My point is that this 10,000 gallons per person currently on earth is also to be used by Industry, power generation, transport, as well as providing for the future.

The Prius is just £11,000 in the USA!  Amazing, bet if they were that much here they'd sell in larger numbers.  The Government seem to like them Dirty Disco but I think they just look at emissions and not cradle to grave.  As I understand it the energy and materials required for production and dismantling mean that overall it is not more environmentally friendly than your average vehicle.

I think it is nearly impossible to scrap a Prius because of the batteries.  I think that I read somewhere that where the batteries are produced for prius has caused monumental dame to the surrounding environment.  So it seems the car is not so environmentally friendly after all.  I think hydrogen is the way forward at present.
