I want a spare caravan wheel for my 1983 Abbey Executive and am a bit stuck. The tyre size is 155/70/r13 so obviously they are on a 13" rim with 4 holes. Are there there different types of 13" rims with 4 holes and do I have to be careful? Wheres the best place to get a spare from? e.g scrap yard, caravan shop etc?

I was told the stud centres are different from car wheels, why not go to a caravan centre & buy a new rim, at least you'll know it's good. I bought one from a scrap yard years ago & it was as bent as a crscrew when the tyre fitter put it on the balancer. I've no idea how much a new rim would be but I suspect it won't be a lot.

O.h. has informed me it sounds like a car size tyre, he says he thinks if it is a caravan tyre it has a c  on it..

We have a 165x 13 spare wheel and tyre for sale from our last van the wheel is new  and the tyre has 6mm of tread and is v good. We also have an Alko wheel carrier for sale due to having new van.

Only prob is we are in Lincoln.

A couple of caravans ago, I forget the model but it came with no spare wheel, always oldish s/hand vans for us.

So I took one wheel to the caravan breakers to match it up. Tried over a dozen before found the right one so I'm glad I didn't just rely on my eye and the tyre size.
