I would try Silky,
It is a very mildly abrasive paste, and does remove mastic, black streaks and the like.
Please take care with any type of thinners or the like, paint on a van is very thin and will not stand much punishment.

baby wipes are also good for removing sticky stuff from things we used them early this year to remove the sticky residue left over from the velcro for our awning skirt and they worked a treat., you can also get a sticky stuff remover from the chemists which they sell to remove the residue from plasters on the skin.

Go to the chemist and ask for Zoff. This is used to remove the resedue from plasters which is left on your skin.------------- Michael

I've always found that oil based stuff works a treat just as other have suggested with the WD40. But.......I use a teeny bit of baby oil on a piece of kitchen roll most of the time, works a treat
Also use babywipes for virtually ANYTHING in our house, including for wiping our pooches beard and bum Oops, sorry....

What ever you do, don't put acetone near anything on a caravan (Nail varnish remover contains acetone!) It will disolve paint and some plastics.
I have sucessfully managed to remove old dried up duct tape residue easily using methalated spirit.

Don`t use thinners or nail varnish remover,
Why?
Caravan paint is very thin and even the smallest amout of thinners applied gently would almost certainly take the paint off to the bare metal. I would be very careful with this and would suggest wd40 as a start. Stupid idea though in the first place using sticky tape......

You could use thinners but must not rub hard or you might damage the paint, DONT use nail varnish remover, turps substitute mixed with elbow grease andseveral attempts should work.

Yep, I'll second or third WD-40. In the past, it has done exactly what it says on the tin........................Dissolves adhesives.
