The 620/6 is a lovely van, one fixed window would not put me off the van. I mean were could you buy a van of that size at that price. Just open the rooflight if you need sone fresh air. I would have bought this van if the car would of pulled it!!
i am also thinking of buying the ranger its the perfect van for my family at a good price im lucky to have a jeep that can tow it! i have asked at my local dealers and they have said with the demand for the bailey, swift and abbey should be bringing the same layout out next year so im waiting till oct caravan show birmingham to see if anyone else has joined in that great family caravan!!!!!!!
hi, we have just had our first outing in the 620/6 wot can i say brill brill brill. soooo much room, did not find the large window a prob lots of others to open and as pooliechris says the roof light is large....
We spent quite a while looking at the Fleetwood when it came out. As has been said, it's a single and therfore smaller. For us the main thing was the front seats aren't big enough to be used as 2 singles, unlike the Bailey, and therefore we would have had to make up the bed at the front for the children to sleep in which rather defeated the object. Also one other thing my husband noticed on the Fleetwood we looked at was the hinges on all the wall cupbaord doors were all made out of plastic and looked quite flimsy to us.
We defintaley prefered the Bailey but are currently waiting to see if anyone else does it or if Bailey will bring it out in the Pageant. We felt there were just one or two 'extras' we'd want that we've been used to with our current Bailey.
Having three kids we looked along the path of the Sonata or the Ranger 620/6. The sonata at the time was very limited availability and was also a bit on the heavy side for us to tow. The Ranger was nice and spacey although I felt it was showing its budget status with a lack of electronic ignition for the cooker and that the toilet shower combination was showerboard, small and perhaps ok for the occasional use 9the shower that is). This was not much use to us as we rally a lot. We then thought about the Sprite Quattro - twin axle with end washroom and stand alone shower cubicle, oven/grill combo with electronic ignition, 106 litre fridge, massive double wardrobe and two fixed bunks as well as two "pull up ones". The adult sleeping arrangement is the normal pull out slat type but to be honest we never use it, preferring to use the seats as two singles. One of the singles is 6' 3" long - ideal for us tall blokes. We've just come back from our first weekend away in it and it was fantastic, very comfortable with lots of space. we paid just over 12k for ours and I will stick my neck out and say that it knocks the spots off a Ranger 620/6! Well worth a look.
we effectively went backwards model wise from the pageant to the ranger 620/6,and for me the pros out weigh the cons by a long way,we sacrificed a proper shower for the wetroom (which to be honest is perfectly useable )but the real joy is the ease everyone goes to bed,4 people dont need to make bed up at all ,the 5th takes seconds ,and all are a realistic size(kids 15,13,11)
the big window has suprisingly turned into a big plus for me,makes the van feel even bigger ,the things that are missing like electric ignition on the hob, fire, fridge dont make any difference at all to my enjoyment.
I read in the latest copy of Practcal caravan magazine that Elddis are bringing out their version of this van on a twin axel later this year - look forward to seeing it.
