Hi,

I've tried cleaning my aquaroll with milton fluid to no avail as it still tastes of "plastic"

As anyone tried anything thats works.

I'm off on my hols very soon!!!!

Hello Snowy, it's Snowy here!  Yep I use puraclean granules bought at any good caravan accessory shop.  It doesn't taint the pipes and aquarolls as Milton and other fluids can do.  It is about £5 a pot but a pot lasts for ages.  You need to put it in and leave it for an hour or two, draw it through the water system too and leave it to give the van's pipes a good clean.

Yes, I have tried the Milton and as you rightly say it still tastes chemical like, so I have stopped bothering, we still use Milton to steralise the container and pipes, as we still use it to wash and clean our teeth, so don't want anything nasty from the bacteria that can build up, but as for drinking we just get it from the mains site tap.

Our new 50ltr Water hog made the water taste like plastic at first. But after a few uses the problem has more or less gone.

Amazing!  This thread is bringing all the Snowys together, how bizarre!

Snowy's - try adding 'essence of orange' (available from most supermarkets in the baking section) to your water carrier .

Run through the water system and leave a few hours.

Drain and rinse through the water system.

All should taste ok !

Bear in mind this is not replacing cleaning your containers - just neutrilizing any plastic taste & chemical free !

Me neither!  I am obviously the only one that is a chatterbox!
